Spanish architect Patricia Urquiola is responsible for the interior design of this amazing hotel in a refurbished 20th century bank building in Barcelona. Not only is she clearly an amazing interior designer but she has also built an extremely successful career designing furniture and accessories for some of the most iconic design brands including B&B italia, Alessi, Knoll, Kartell and many more. This woman is nothing short of amazing!

At the moment I'm finalising the plans for the stairs in the warehouse. If you scroll down to previous posts you can catch a glimpse of the original rusted iron stairs. I'm definitely going to keep them almost as they are except perhaps paint the railing in a gloss black,I think it stays true to the original design of the building. As soon as the stairs are completed I'll be sure to document it! Here are a few examples of inspiring stairs for you to enjoy in the meantime.

scandinavian interiors.

The Scandinavian's really have mastered the art of design, these interiors are the perfect example. Minimal, white and stylish without being bland.

Everybody meet Harold (Harold is the name of the paint colour). It's still in the early stages but here is a sneak peek of the hue I've selected for the main open plan area of the warehouse.

chesterfield dreaming.

images via unknown

How amazing is the classic chesterfield... so timeless! I do like the idea of using a bright coloured fabric to make it more modern although I'd really love one in a cognac hued leather. The more worn looking the better and I'd put it in a room full of books just like the one above.

At the moment I'm coming up with some rough ideas for the kitchen design in the warehouse. Here are are few of my personal favourites for you to drool over, it's all about the clean lines and cool pendant lighting for me!

monochromatic love.

image via unknown

There is something about a monochromatic interior that I just love, it's so easy on the eye and always feels so calming.I think this image could almost describe my style(in image form). It also doesn't hurt that two of my favourite iconic 20th century chairs are in the one space... not to mention it's just the perfect mix of polished and undone. I love the worn out bertoia chair in the foreground, perfectly imperfect!

colour inspiration.

The colour I've selected for the main area in the warehouse is in this family...I'm imagining brownish grey, almost kahki walls, black fittings and accents with concrete flooring to compliment the masculine style interior I'm creating.

inspiration.

image via sacramentostreet

This is an image I've had in my inspiration file for forever... I love the masculine industrial feel of it, from memory it's somewhere in Amsterdam. Although what I have in mind for my warehouse conversion is different to this I am definitely going for the same masculine/industrial look.
