Hecker Guthrie is a Melbourne based design practice who produce amazing work such as the restaurant shown above. They offer a wide range of services including interior design, branding, graphic design, garden design and temporary projects such as pop up stores just to name a few (wow). The work pictured is The Old Library, Sydney and was originally a church later becoming a library and now a restaurant and bar "working within the voluminous spaces we created a sense of intimacy and gathering through creating a series of rooms within rooms and spaces within spaces" .  I absolutely love their style, very very cool!

Things are starting to shape up quite nicely at the warehouse, the bathroom is now complete after what seems like months and is definitely fitting the masculine brief. I think the black and black combo is the perfect mix of masculine, elegant and calming... next up is lighting!

The first image is a snapshot from the entrance to the bathroom, the hue used on the walls is Porters Van Helsing. In the last two images is a sneak peek of the polished concrete floors in the main area of the space and the tiled entrance to the warehouse.
Next on the agenda for the bathroom is the installation of the custom made wall hung vanity, bathtub and fixtures...

After quite a long break from the blog I'm excited to be able to share with you this image of the beautiful freestanding bath that is about to be installed in the warehouse. It's the Vizzini Alberta, made of a pure white stone resin composite it is without a doubt the most amazing looking bath I have ever laid eyes on.

Iconic Finnish textile design company Marimekko and airline Finnair are joining forces in 2013. All business class flights will be kitted out with Marimekko textiles and tableware with economy serving in matching paper versions, cute!
Two of Finnairs planes will feature the Unikko poppy print from 1964 by Maija Isola...I know who I want to fly with next!

Spanish architect Patricia Urquiola is responsible for the interior design of this amazing hotel in a refurbished 20th century bank building in Barcelona. Not only is she clearly an amazing interior designer but she has also built an extremely successful career designing furniture and accessories for some of the most iconic design brands including B&B italia, Alessi, Knoll, Kartell and many more. This woman is nothing short of amazing!

At the moment I'm finalising the plans for the stairs in the warehouse. If you scroll down to previous posts you can catch a glimpse of the original rusted iron stairs. I'm definitely going to keep them almost as they are except perhaps paint the railing in a gloss black,I think it stays true to the original design of the building. As soon as the stairs are completed I'll be sure to document it! Here are a few examples of inspiring stairs for you to enjoy in the meantime.
